SYNOPSIS
Magdalena makes a journey to find her missing son, who disappeared on his way to the Mexican border with the United States. Armed only with her will and her memory, Magdalena descends to a violent and desolated territory, the migration route in Mexico.
about the Project
The script "Non distinguishing features" was written with a grant from the Mexican Fund for the Arts (FONCA 2013). The project is currently in financing. The film recently received FOPROCINE FUND 2016, awarded by the Mexican Film Insitute.
The film will be shot in different locations in Mexico by the end of 2017.

Fernanda Valadez
She studied filmmaking in Mexico City. Her short film "Of this world" was considered the best Mexican short of 2011 by the Mexican Chamber of Film Industry (CANACINE); won best shortfilm at GIFF (Guanajuato Internation Film Festival) and was screened at the "Best Mexican shorts" pavilion of the Short Film Corner 2011 (Cannes Film Festival).
Her graduation film, "400 bags", was selected for the Editing Studio of the Berlinale Talents 2013 and it has been shown in different international film festivals. The film was nominated for a Silver Ariel as best short fiction film, 2015. Won "Best shorfilm" in Sao Paulo Film Festival 2015, and most recently was nominated by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences "OSCARS" for the Student Academy Award, 2015, in best foreign shortfilm category.
In 2013 she received a script writing grant from the Mexican Fund for the Arts (Jóvenes Creadores-FONCA) to develop the script "Non distinguishing features". This project will be her first feature film and will be produced by Enaguas Cine.
