SYNOPSIS
Pablo is a well-respected middle school teacher in Mexico City who has always felt as a woman trapped in a man’s body. When he finally assumes he is a transgender person and starts planning to come back to school as a female after a holiday period, he will have to overcome the opposition of the people around him, but most of all, he will have to face his deepest fears.
About The Project
The script COLD FRONTS was written with a grant from the Mexican Fund for the Arts (FONCA 2013). As a part of the project development, Alex Zuno, the director, shot the short film HOTEL ROOM, which is an adaptation of some scenes of this feature. The short film was produced with the support of EN AGUAS CINE and it received a grant from the Mexican Film Institute (IMCINE) for its postproduction. The short film will be premiered by mid 2014.
About the Director
Alex Zuno
ALEX ZUNO attended the Center for Cinematographic Studies of the National University of Mexico (CUEC-UNAM). His short films EMILIO’S EYES and EUGENIO’S FAREWELL have been screened around the world as part of the official selection of international film festivals.
In 2013 he received a script writing grant from the Mexican Fund for the Arts (Jóvenes Creadores – FONCA) to write his feature COLD FRONTS.
Currently, he is post-producing his short film HOTEL ROOM with a grant from the Mexican Film Institute (IMCINE).
